A child was reportedly abducted from a driveway while sitting inside a car, before being abandoned on a roadside.

Detectives are questioning a 41-year-old man after the horrifying alleged kidnapping attempt in Ossett, West Yorkshire on Tuesday.

The youngster, whose gender and age police have not disclosed, was inside their family’s orange Nissan X-Trail 4×4 sitting in the back seat at the time when it was stolen from a driveway in a residential area.

Police launched a full-scale search operation involving a helicopter to track down the vehicle.

Thankfully, the car was dumped on a roadside an hour later with the child still inside and physically unharmed.
